“They decided to stop”…: Hélène Rollès’ blunt reaction to the end of Les Mystères de l’amour on TMC

After TF1 announced that it would stop broadcasting Les Mystères de l’amour on TMC from 2026, Hélène Rollès, who has played Hélène in the series and its predecessors for decades, opens up about the future.

The decision came down in early October. TF1 announced the cancellation of Les Mystères de l’amour, the third spin-off series from Hélène et les Garçons, following Le Miracle de l’amour and Les Vacances de l’amour. This decision was as surprising as it was painful for the audience as it was for the actors, given how deeply the series has become a fixture in our television landscape (since February 2011, while the storyline began in 1992 with Hélène et les Garçons) and how present and dedicated its fan community is. In an interview with our colleagues at Ciné Télé Revue, Hélène Rollès – who is preparing to give a concert in Mons on November 30th – shared her thoughts on this decision.

“As long as…”: Hélène Rollès ready to continue playing Hélène in Les Mystères de l’amour.
While our colleagues point out that Hélène Rollès “has therefore spent almost her entire career playing the character of Hélène,” the actress and singer explains that she can easily see herself continuing indefinitely. “As long as Jean-Luc Azoulay (producer and screenwriter) continues to write,” she replies when asked “how long she is prepared to continue.” “It’s always a real pleasure and a joy to get together to act. Nobody wants to stop,” she explains. “Normally, it should continue on another channel. I’m a little disappointed that it’s ending with TMC, because we’ve been working together for a long time. But they’ve decided to stop. We remain hopeful of continuing elsewhere,” added Hélène Rollès regarding the end of the broadcast of Les Mystères de l’amour on TMC, scheduled for 2026 after fourteen years of storylines.

“Mixed and confused”: Patrick Puydebat discusses the end of Les Mystères de l’amour.
Patrick Puydebat, the eternal Nicolas, Hélène’s first love, seemed less optimistic about the future of the series. “Feelings are quite mixed and confused. (…) When it ends, after the holiday season, we’ll all understand that it’s over. For the moment, we don’t really grasp the impact of the show’s end,” he told Télé-Loisirs at the beginning of last month.
