Thursday, October 30th in Here It All Begins…

At the hospital, Bérénice meets up with Carla and Rose to get the doctor’s opinion. He confirms that Carla is cured and will have no lasting effects. She must, of course, continue her treatment and never touch Petrovac again. Carla apologizes to her mother and her girlfriend for everything she’s put them through lately. Now, she intends to get back to cooking.

At the Institute, Carla resumes her classes as normal. Jim takes the opportunity to apologize for posting the photo of her as a teenager. Carla forgives him. As Bérénice joins them, Chef Leroy explains the course content to the students. Bérénice wants Carla’s opinion on one of his dishes, but Carla pretends to have tasted it.

Later, Carla is caught by Rose looking at herself in the mirror. She confesses to her mother that she still doesn’t like what she sees. She also feels like a bad person, especially when she thinks back to the mean things she said to her cousin. Rose takes the time to reassure her and help her put things into perspective.

For her part, Bérénice confesses to her sister that she doesn’t want to rush things regarding the marriage with Carla. She prefers to wait until her girlfriend has truly recovered from everything she’s been through before bringing the subject up again.

At the end of the day, Carla’s biological and adoptive families gather at the Leroys’ house to celebrate her recovery. Jim gives her a card signed by all her classmates, wishing her a safe return to the Institute. Carla is deeply touched.

Shortly after, she finds some Petrovac boxes left in her purse. Carla throws them in the trash. She then joins Anne and Rose and they toast to accepting that she’s not perfect. She confides in them that she wants to propose to Bérénice the very next day and that she needs their help to organize everything…

Fleur surprises three completely naked boys

At Jude’s shop, Mattéo is distraught because he dropped his cell phone in the toilet and it won’t turn back on. Jude thinks it’s reached the end of its life and he’ll have to buy a new one. But Mattéo explains that he can’t afford it. He’s already overdrawn. He refuses to let his boyfriend lend him money. Jude then suggests another way for him to earn some extra income.

Mattéo then tells Lionel and Gary what Jude suggested: to be a nude model for painting classes. But Mattéo admits he’s too modest to do that kind of thing. Lionel takes him and Gary home to help him feel more comfortable. The two boys decide to get naked at the same time as him. Just as they’re all undressing, Fleur unexpectedly enters the dressing room and catches them.

At the counter, Fleur recounts what happened to Jude with great amusement. Mattéo, on the other hand, is still very uncomfortable. He’s considering finding a student job where he won’t have to be naked. Lionel, however, is interested in modeling.

Ismaël is under pressure

At the workshop, several pairs of students are trying out for the pre-selections for the training hotel brigade. Among them are Zoé and Léonard, as well as Bianca and Ismaël. Chef Armand explains that the pre-selections take place in two stages. The first challenge involves choosing a breakfast recipe and preparing it within three hours.

During the challenge, Ismaël is flustered. He makes several mistakes. Zoé takes him aside, admitting that the situation isn’t easy for Léonard either. Ismaël retorts that her behavior has nothing to do with him. When he returns to his work station, he’s subjected to remarks from Bianca, still jealous of his closeness to Zoé. Without paying attention, Ismaël burns his hand on a saucepan. Chef Armand insists that he go to the infirmary.

On site, Constance notices he has a superficial burn and bandages it. She also asks him about his return to school. Ismaël explains that his grandfather died during the summer and that he decided to come to the Institute to be closer to his family. Indeed, the young man is trying to help them as best he can because the family situation is dire. Constance sympathizes. Once he is treated, Ismaël returns to his exam.

At the end of the challenge, Clotilde chooses the finalists: Bianca and Ismaël, and Léonard and Zoé. She announces that the second challenge will consist of preparing a complete gourmet breakfast. Bianca suggests to Ismaël that they go out for a romantic dinner to celebrate their victory. The young man declines, explaining that he has to help his parents. He prefers to meet his girlfriend the next day to work. Bianca is hurt that he’s leaving her out. Ismaël raises his voice, accusing her of being selfish. Zoé and Léonard, witnessing the scene, are uncomfortable.
