Carla breaks off her engagement to Bérénice
At the swamp house, Rose tries to convince Carla to have a bite to eat for breakfast, but Carla is too busy writing a letter to Berenice, stating that she’s fine and that there’s no need to cancel their wedding. Rose then tries to bring up the dangers of Petrovac. Carla retorts that she’s handling the situation very well.
With that, Berenice comes to talk to her. She hasn’t changed her mind about postponing the wedding: until Carla is well, she doesn’t want to go ahead with it. Despite all her efforts to assure her that she isn’t sick, Carla realizes there’s nothing she can do to reassure her girlfriend. So she decides to give her back her engagement ring.
Meanwhile, Coline feels guilty for not understanding her cousin’s suffering. She realizes that her fat-phobic remarks weren’t personal but were due to her body dysmorphia.
During class, Chef Guinot takes Carla aside because she can see she’s not feeling well. She even encourages her to open up about her eating disorder. But Carla is still in denial. She returns to her work area, where Malik insists she taste their preparation. Carla categorically refuses. She moves away from the other students to give herself a Petrovac injection. On her way back to her work area, she bumps into Bianca and drops her tube of Petrovac on the floor. Bianca picks it up and displays it in front of everyone. Upset, Carla leaves the workshop.
Witnessing the scene, Jim is very worried about her. After class, he alerts Bérénice, Constance, and Rose about the situation because no one has seen Carla since. Among the things she left behind, Constance discovers a notebook in which she writes down what she eats every day, to the nearest gram—which is practically nothing.
Berenice and Rose go to the marshes to look for Carla. They find her unconscious on the sand. Rose immediately calls for help, while Berenice kneels beside her girlfriend to reassure her. But Carla doesn’t recognize them…
At the farm, Angèle confesses to Coline that she can’t stand Gaspard squatting at their house anymore because he thinks he can do whatever he wants. At the Institute, Coline tells the young man that he’ll have to find another place to live. She suggests he take the room Billie and Penelope left.
Unfortunately, the room is already taken. However, Stanislas finds a place for Gaspard in another room: Ferdinand’s. Needless to say, the atmosphere between the two students is tense.
Anouk turns her jacket
For her class with the First Years, Chef Rivero decides to give them an exercise where they have to abandon the visual aspect of their presentation in favor of the taste of their dish. Milan succeeds with flying colors, while Ismaël struggles to grasp the point of completely abandoning presentation.
Later, Anouk comes into the kitchen during service. She admits to Anaïs that she made amends because she realized she was right. Anaïs thanks her for taking her comments on board. Anouk believes it’s important for colleagues to communicate and help each other, without needing to notify management—a slight dig at Anaïs, who had indeed taken Clotilde to task.
