Billie defends Carla, while Malik thinks Jim has simply lost his grip. And when the young man reappears, his gaze blank, we understand that the situation is about to escalate.
Because Jim can’t bear the guilt. His mind gradually turns to revenge. For him, Carla is no longer just a victim: she is responsible for everything he has lost. He convinces himself that she deserves what is happening to her. An icy anger takes hold of him. He no longer speaks to anyone, avoids classes, and spends his nights wandering around kitchens or the park. Bérénice tries to talk to him, but he violently pushes her away.
Then, a new twist: an anonymous message circulates in the Institute. A video, captured by chance, shows part of the argument between Jim and Carla. We hear snatches of sentences, shouts, a muffled noise. The evidence is damning. Teyssier decides to summon Jim immediately. Facing him, the young man remains silent. Not a word, not an explanation. His gaze burns with a mixture of shame and anger.
That’s when everything changes again. Jim runs away before the police arrive. A crazy, desperate act. The students are in shock. No one understands what he’s planning to do. Some fear the worst. Antoine and Clotilde launch a search. Meanwhile, Carla, still hospitalized, finally regains consciousness. Her first words to him are: “Jim…”
When she wakes up, she doesn’t remember everything. The images are blurry, the sounds muddled. But one feeling runs through her: fear. She knows he’s capable of anything, that he won’t stop there. And she’s right. Because Jim, consumed by rage, is plotting his final revenge. He can’t bear the thought of her surviving, of her speaking out, of her denouncing him. The tension reaches its peak in the final scene. Jim slips into the hospital room at night. Carla, still weak, opens her eyes and discovers him. The silence is total. He approaches slowly, tears in his eyes. “You destroyed me,” he whispers. She tries to defend herself, to explain, but he won’t listen. His hands are shaking. We feel that one gesture too many could start everything again.
Suddenly, the door opens: Berenice enters. The confrontation is interrupted. Jim steps back, his face devastated, then flees again. Carla bursts into tears. The police arrive a few minutes later, but Jim has vanished.
