On Thursday, October 9, in an Instagram story, Amandine Pellissard revealed the event that prompted her husband to be rushed to the hospital.

While they had rediscovered their joy of life and serenity by moving to Spain, the Pellissards’ daily life changed dramatically on October 6th. It was in an Instagram story that the former participant in the reality documentary Familles grandes: la vie en XXL announced that her husband had been admitted to the hospital. After initial tests, Amandine returned to her followers to give an update on the situation: “There is a problem of deep thrombosis that has probably moved. […] The doctor doesn’t know if it’s at the cardiac or pulmonary level. So she says it’s either a suspected heart attack or a pulmonary embolism.” That evening, while Alexandre was under observation at the hospital, the mother received confirmation from the doctors: “We know for sure that he has a pulmonary embolism. We are now waiting for the second interpretation, that of the cardiologist.” Devastated by this news, which was followed by a second one since the doctors also detected a “beginning of a heart attack”, Amandine could not hold back her tears, fearing the worst for her other half…

Facing this ordeal alone, Amandine Pellissard was able to count on the presence of her eldest son, Léo, who did not hesitate to go to Spain to be with his family. On October 9, after spending a good part of the day in the hospital with her children and her husband, the former candidate of the TF1 program had a realization that deeply frightened her. “Alex had an appointment with a general practitioner on Tuesday afternoon. If he hadn’t asked to go to the hospital on Monday… He would no longer be there,” she said in an Instagram story. Before evoking one of her exchanges with her husband and her eldest son: “Just now, Alex said to Léo and me: ‘Don’t think I’m crazy, don’t talk about it, but all day Monday, as soon as I looked up at the sky, I saw a luminous halo.’ I think it’s important to talk about it. […] I remember him telling me to go to the hospital… He had a grayish complexion. He was really unwell.”

In front of her husband, Amandine does her best to keep her cool and not break down; in front of her Instagram community, the mother allows herself to break down. And on October 9, the influencer truly realized that her husband might not have made it. “After receiving the first Doppler results, which were very bad, the doctor told Alex that he was a few hours away from leaving if he hadn’t gone to the hospital. The care was really in extremis!” she said, before bursting into tears and admitting to being “very scared.”
