Friday, November 14th in Here It All Begins…

Facing Teyssier, Rose, and Joachim, Clotilde recounts the accident that cost Hector his leg: she was 17 and didn’t have a driver’s license, but her father had bought her a car and insisted she try it out. On the road, it started raining heavily, and Clotilde couldn’t get the windshield wipers to work. On a curve, she lost control of the vehicle and hit a cyclist, Hector.

Auguste refused to let them take him to the hospital. They went a few meters away, to a phone booth, to call for help. When Clotilde learned that Hector’s leg had been amputated, she wanted to confess, but her father stopped her. He forbade her from seeing the young man again, promising that he would make sure he had a good life. Clotilde obeyed, but she still feels terribly guilty.

Meanwhile, Andrea also tells her family her side of the story. The day after Hector’s amputation, Auguste offered Leon the hotel he had just bought in exchange for keeping quiet about the accident. Andrea explains that they agreed to secure their future.

Distraught, Hector withdraws from the conversation. His mother catches up with him, but he resents her for lying to him all this time when he’s always wanted to know who hit him. Andrea maintains that she and her husband made the best decision, insisting it was the only way for Hector to have a career.

For his part, Ismaël also doesn’t understand his grandparents’ reaction. Bianca, meanwhile, puts herself in Andrea’s shoes and suggests that her boyfriend stop fantasizing about the supposed life his uncle could have had without the accident. Hurt by not feeling heard, Ismaël rejects his girlfriend.

Later, Teyssier and Rose go to the Jourdain Hotel to express their support for Jeanne. They also want to discuss the partnership, hoping it will still be valid. Jeanne replies that it’s up to her brother to decide, but she thinks it’s far from certain.

In the kitchen, Léonard goes to see how Ismaël is doing. Ismaël confides in him about his unhappiness, admitting that he resents his grandparents for lying to Hector in order to make a deal with Auguste Armand. Léonard sympathizes with his situation and then stays to help him pack up the leftovers from their brunch to donate to a charity.

At the Institute, Clotilde can count on Joachim’s unwavering support. He is convinced that she simply needs to give Hector some time to process the information and that he will forgive her.

In the principal’s office, Hector informs Teyssier that the partnership project still stands, provided Clotilde is expelled from the school. However, Teyssier is unwilling to accept such a condition and asks him to leave…

Does Tom want to win Billie back?

At the Atelier, Billie runs into Tom as she finishes a cooking session. The two exes admit to each other that they’re glad they stayed on good terms. Tom adds that he loves spending time with his ex and describes her as a ray of sunshine that brightens his days. Shortly after, Billie realizes that all her dishes have already been washed.

Later, in the Institute’s parking lot, Billie notices that her car has been cleaned. She suspects Tom is trying to win her back with these small gestures. However, she is very clear about their relationship and has no intention of getting back together with him.

Back at the Atelier, Billie confronts Tom, who assures her he sees things the same way and no longer has feelings for her. At the same time, Julia brings Billie a bouquet of flowers addressed to her, signed Ferdinand. Billie realizes that he’s behind all these little gestures and is trying to make amends.

Alice doesn’t want children

At the farm, Gaëtan and Angèle try to sound out Alice about having children. But they are too subtle and get no concrete answer.

Later, Gaëtan takes the opportunity to run into Alice at the Institute to bring up the subject again with her. But a misunderstanding arises because Alice thinks he wants her help with nutrition classes for pregnant women.

She then tells Stanislas and Angèle about it. A new misunderstanding arises. Stanislas finally reveals to Alice that Gaëtan wants to have a discussion with her about parenthood.

Alice goes to the Coffee Shop to talk to Gaëtan and tell him that she never wanted to be a mother. For the young man, it’s a real shock.
