Mélanie Gonzalez has managed to shed a few pounds since the birth of her daughter Calypso. In an interview with our colleagues at Purepeople , the star of Familles grandes opened up about her significant weight gain, as well as what helped her lose those extra pounds.
A couple for more than twenty years, Mélanie and Franck Gonzalez are at the head of an XXL tribe to which a little girl was added in September 2024. “We present to you Calypso born this Saturday at 1:17 a.m., she weighed 3kg205 for 48 cm, everything went very well for baby as well as for mom. This little ray of sunshine completes this magnificent adventure which is motherhood. Determined to take control of herself after significant weight gain, Mélanie Gonzalez revealed that she had eliminated sugar and all other junk from her diet. In a recent interview with our colleagues, the mother of Familles grandes revealed that she had a turning point when she discovered that she had “gained 20 kilos” . “It’s huge! I ate a lot, I didn’t pay attention and I weighed more than I had ever done in my whole life, even when pregnant , ” she explained. Before continuing: “Calypso was a highly anticipated baby following several missed pregnancies, so I ate a lot to compensate for my stress. And then, I absolutely wanted to realize the pregnancy by having a big belly. And Franck and Margot would have fun going to the grocery store in the evening, in their pajamas, to bring me chocolate bars, just horrible things. And then at night, I would wake up eating. And I don’t nibble on an apple, but rather packets of cakes” . To achieve this, Mélanie Gonzalez stopped all sugar consumption: “ I already stopped eating sugar. Even for the children, I found that I was buying too much junk. So I said, stop, everyone has to be careful too . ”

Still with our colleagues at Purepeople , Mélanie Gonzalez confided that she had “started exercising” in addition to having adopted a slightly more balanced diet: “ I go boxing with my daughter twice a week , when I can. And otherwise, I run once a week . Before, I didn’t run at all. When I started, I did three kilometers. After that, I did five. And now, I do seven . ”
