Carla decides to leave Calvières
After leaving the hospital, Carla is still disoriented. Her adoptive parents suggest she spend the day with Marc and Rose, hoping it will revive her recent memories. Carla has understood that Rose is her biological mother, but she still finds it hard to believe they are close.
Meanwhile, Berenice moves in temporarily with the Leroys. However, she explains to Jim that she can’t reveal who she is to Carla, for fear of causing too much emotional shock. But Carla happens to walk through the door just as Berenice and Jim are discussing the wedding they were planning a few days earlier.
Berenice then explains to Carla why she didn’t tell her sooner. She also claims that the engagement ring was a little too big and that they took it to a jeweler to have it tightened. Carla takes in all the information, then counts on Berenice to tell her the truth under all circumstances.
Afterwards, Rose and Marc suggest that Carla cook together. The young girl admits that she would like to look at the photos on her phone, despite her adoptive father’s wishes. Reading her messages with Bérénice, she realizes that their wedding had been postponed because they no longer got along. Carla feels deeply betrayed. Bérénice tries to explain herself but is interrupted by the arrival of Nicolas Furiani.
Shortly after, Bérénice apologizes to Carla, who quickly cuts her off to announce that she is returning to her adoptive parents in Angers, with no intention of returning…
Ferdinand lands a new job
Stanislas is interested in recruiting the new maître d’hôtel at the Double A. While Billie refuses to take Ferdinand on because she finds him odious, Anaïs points out that he stands out from the other applicants, at least in theory. Stanislas decides to test his practical skills during lunchtime service.
During the service, Anaïs asks Ferdinand to take care of a regular customer who has come to celebrate his birthday. The young man is to serve her a flambéed Norwegian omelet. Stanislas, Billie, and Anaïs watch from afar: he does it perfectly.
After the service, Billie tells Ferdinand that they were impressed by his mastery and are offering him the position of maître d’hôtel. She adds, however, that she feels, on a purely personal level, that he doesn’t deserve it. Initially, Ferdinand declines the offer, saying he came to the Institute to prove to his father that he was capable of becoming a chef. Billie suggests he make his own choices, as she has seen that he enjoys serving. Ferdinand agrees to consider the position on the condition that she give him cooking lessons.
At the studio, Billie gives Ferdinand constructive feedback on his dish, but he takes the criticism badly. The young woman explains to him that he shouldn’t take it personally and advises him to make an organizational plan for his recipes to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Ferdinand then confides that he has confirmed to Stanislas that he has accepted the position of maître d’hôtel.
At the Workshop, Gaëtan asks Penelope to review his worksheets with him before his class with the First Years. The young woman purposely spills coffee on his worksheets, then tells him that his class the day before was extremely boring. Gaëtan then asks for her help to make his class more interactive.
He therefore asks the First Years to randomly select a fictitious customer and create a dish that matches their diet, while respecting taste and nutritional balance. Ninon is very inspired, but she overdoes it.
