Monday, October 27 in Here it all begins…

Having had no news of Carla since Friday, Bérénice goes to the Leroys’ house in the hope of seeing her and talking with her. There, Marc informs her that Carla is in the hospital with Rose and the Furianis because she needs medical permission to return home. However, he reassures Bérénice, certain that Carla will eventually reconnect with her. Jim, meanwhile, reminds Bérénice that he’s there for her if she needs him.

For her part, Carla receives medical clearance to return to Angers. However, the doctor recommends that she undergo one final examination before returning to her adoptive parents the next day.

While waiting in the hospital hallway during Carla’s examination, Anne Furiani expresses her fear that her daughter won’t feel safe in Angers. She dreads Carla’s return to her teenage bedroom, where she began developing an eating disorder when she learned she was adopted. Rose then proposes one last attempt to jog Carla’s memory.

After her exam, Rose takes her daughter to the Institute for a tour. Carla feels uncomfortable because she doesn’t recognize Clotilde, and especially because several students stare at her as she passes by. Rose apologizes for the inconvenience, then manages to convince her to take her to the kitchen.

There, Carla runs into Jim, who offers to help her with her recipe. The young woman accepts. Jim notices that she’s retained some very technical techniques, which he finds encouraging. Carla confirms that she feels comfortable in the kitchen.

At the same time, Berenice enters to talk to Carla, but the latter refuses to listen. Jim confesses that he brought her in so she could clear things up. Faced with Carla’s reaction, Berenice decides not to press the issue and leaves.

Overwhelmed by emotion, Carla throws her pan into the sink, which brings back memories of her last kitchen argument with Jim. She then turns to him to tell him that she remembers him…

Ferdinand is looking for a partner

After hanging up with Teyssier, Clotilde informs Stanislas that he has found a rare gem in the area for the future training hotel. The two colleagues brainstorm ways to prepare students for this new curriculum and decide to launch pre-selections to join the hotel’s brigade. The pair that creates the best gourmet breakfast will automatically be added to the brigade.

Meanwhile, Billie coaches Ferdinand at the studio. When she hears about the pre-selections, which are closed to Master’s students, she urges the young man to participate, emphasizing that it would be great training for him in the kitchen and also a chance to bond.

After his time at Double A as the new maître d’hôtel, Ferdinand offers special praise for Leonard’s work. Afterward, when Leonard decides to pair up with Zoe for the pre-selections, Ferdinand suggests that his stepbrother pair up with him instead. Since he’s criticizing Zoe’s skills to promote himself, Leonard flatly refuses his suggestion.

Disappointed, Ferdinand returns to his room at the boarding school. He disturbs Gaspard and Maya, who had placed a scarf on the door to signal their desire for privacy. Ferdinand then offers his roommate a deal: let him have his room two nights a week in exchange for suggesting that Léonard be his partner for the pre-selections.

Ninon pushes Milan to the limit

For her inter-class class, Chef Rivero offers the students a Halloween-themed module: they will have to create a dish using only ingredients that are naturally black. The students are randomly assigned into pairs. Milan finds himself with Ninon. While he wants to find inspiration by following his instincts, the young woman prefers to plan everything in advance.

Towards the end of the class, Ninon is very proud of their plate, while Milan finds it a little too tame. As he prepares to pour sesame oil with a spoon, Ninon stops him, declaring that it’s better to pour it with a pipette. Milan suggests he trust her, but the young girl takes their teacher to task to prove her right. Milan throws in the towel.

After class, Milan complains to Gary about Ninon’s behavior. Gary thinks she’s just trying to do the right thing and points out that she’s actually quite knowledgeable. Tom, overhearing their conversation, feels that Ninon is being disrespectful to Milan. He decides to add his two cents to the situation.

He approaches Ninon in the park and tells her that Milan has been in prison because of his hot-headed and impulsive temperament. He explains that Milan doesn’t tolerate frustration well and therefore advises Ninon to always go along with him to avoid problems.
