For the occasion, football fans were scheduled to tune in at 5:50 p.m. on TF1 to watch the summit clash between an England team, already crowned in this competition in 2022 and on their home soil, and the Spain team, world champion in 2023. In other words, a clash between two of the best teams in the world, to be followed on the first channel. However, at the end of regulation time, the two nations were unable to separate, and so had to go into extra time… shown on TMC.

And this, until 8:45 p.m., since England and Spain were unable to separate and went to a penalty shootout. The end of the match and the victory of the English women also brought together nearly 1.9 million viewers on TMC, representing 10.6% of the audience present in front of their television screens.
