INTERVIEW. Jean-Louis C notably invited Sylvie to his home, in L’amour est dans le pré 2025. But the suitor was “too enterprising” from the start, as the farmer confided to TV Actu.
He didn’t believe it, and yet, Jean-Louis C was indeed selected to participate in L’amour est dans le pré 2025. After opening the letters, he met the contenders who had caught his attention during the speed-dating in Paris. And it was Isabelle (53 years old), a woman who had already participated in the show, and Sylvie who caught his attention. But the latter’s behavior somewhat slowed him down during the stay at the farm, as he confided to TV Actu .
TV Actu : What made you turn to this adventure to find love?
Jean-Louis C : I’ve been watching the show for 20 years, and it was people from a campsite I helped who found me full of energy and said, ‘We’re going to sign you up.’ That’s how it happened. I thought, after all, since I’m alone, I think it’ll be a great adventure. I didn’t think I’d be selected.
Have any women tried to contact you outside of the show?
I received letters at home. But since I made a commitment with Love is in the Meadow, I put them in an envelope and then sent them back to Paris. I kept my commitment.
What state of mind were you in before filming?
It was a huge casting call, and I didn’t think I’d be selected. So when they called me and told me it was OK, I didn’t sleep all night. I couldn’t believe it.
Were you stressed?
Yes, there’s a lot of stress because we’re in small villages. Seeing people like that is a bit different. After all, I’m quite modern. I worked in a supermarket, so there were a lot of people. And I knew the city as well as the countryside.
Did you have any apprehensions?
Yes, especially during speed dating. I had a lot of apprehensions. I may have even told myself, because I’m someone who has respect, that I didn’t want to hurt anyone. So even if there was a woman who wasn’t really my crush, I didn’t want to hurt her.
What was the most difficult thing for you on the farm?
The four days at the farm. It was intense, though; it was from morning until late at night. I was exhausted. In any case, I had planned everything to have a good week; I’m a very forward-thinking person. I had planned meals, outings, everything.
During the speed dating session, you met Isabelle, a former contestant on the show. Did you know that she had already participated in the program when you met?
No, I only found out later. But with Isabelle, everything went well.
How did you experience having two women at home?
At first, it was daunting, but it went well. They were very kind to me. I can’t fault them for anything.
From the moment she arrived at your home, Sylvie was very touchy-feely. How did you experience this?
It made me uncomfortable. Maybe she made a mistake being too tactile with me. Since Isabelle hadn’t arrived, I didn’t want to commit to one more than the other from the start. I had said we’d do it 50-50, and Sylvie was too forward from the start.
