It’s been a month now since the Colas’ daily life completely changed. At the end of August, Delphine reported the pain that was eating away at her husband, unaware that he would end up in the emergency room a few hours later. As the days went by and various tests carried out, doctors pinpointed the cause of Olivier’s health problems: ” Infectious spondylodiscitis [an infection of an intervertebral disc and adjacent vertebrae, caused by a bacterium, editor’s note]. ” Transferred to Grenoble University Hospital for more appropriate care in the infectious disease department, the treatments administered to the former participant in the reality show  Large Families: Life in XXL  quickly took effect… To Delphine’s great delight! On September 15, the mother shared some big news with her Instagram followers: “ Olivier has been transferred to a rehabilitation center. He is leaving the CHU after three weeks of suffering, fighting, doubting, believing, achieving and trusting the doctors. ” It is therefore in a less anxiety-provoking environment than the hospital that the tribe can now reunite, while impatiently awaiting Olivier’s final release!

Delphine Colas ( Large Families ) upset by a seemingly banal scene

As always, the day starts off strong for Delphine Colas. Between waking up, breakfast, last-minute preparations and dropping the children off at school, professional obligations, and daily chores, the former reality show participant is very often in a hurry… But on September 23, a seemingly innocuous scene caught her attention and stopped her in her tracks. “ This morning, leaving school, I saw a father with his daughters and tears welled up in my eyes… He was acting like Olivier with our children. [At that moment], I was in a hurry, I was walking quickly, but it stopped me dead in my tracks! ” she said. Before explaining why this scene had such an impact on her: “ I think I just realized this morning that we really could have lost Olivier… And how hellish it must be to be a widow. ” Upset by this thought, Delphine then “ said a little prayer thinking of those who are going through this .” “ Strength to you, the light is always somewhere ,” she concluded.

Contrary to what some imagine, this last month has not been easy for Delphine to manage. Alone with her children from one day to the next, the mother did her best to visit her husband, not worry her offspring despite her darkest fears, while still keeping her household running. If she felt like “ bursting into tears ” more than once, today, Olivier’s wife is approaching this situation philosophically. “ A month alone with the four children… This situation inspires me, I have a lot to say, ” she said on September 23. Who knows, perhaps some confidences written down will see the light of day!
